Myrtle Beach Ranked #1 Beach & Sun Destination by TripAdvisor

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Supporting what those who love Myrtle Beach have known for years, TripAdvisors’ recently published 2010 rankings named Myrtle Beach as their #1 Beach and Sun Destination in the US. Even more exciting, they ranked Myrtle Beach as the #5 destination worldwide!
According to Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce officials, part of the allure is the newly opened beach boardwalk which is exceeding expectations of both the city and the merchants located along its path. In fact, Trip Advisors’ rankings of U.S. boardwalks placed the Myrtle Beach boardwalk as #8 in the nation …an amazing fact considering that it opened in May, 2010.
Myrtle Beach ranked above San Diego, California at #2 and Poipu, Hawaii at #3. TripAdvisors bases their rankings on millions of reviews and opinions at the group’s online forum.
Myrtle Beach has always been recognized as a family-friendly and affordable beach vacation spot with its wide and accessible beach as the major draw. But the area also offers multiple attractions including family-friendly amusements, dining, live entertainment, shopping, golf, sports, and a wide variety of accommodations.
Accommodations include oceanfront condos which have played a major role in transforming how families vacation in that they give all the comforts of home plus access to resort amenities and activities when everybody has had their fill of building sand castles! The Hoffman Group is pleased to offer Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach condos for sale in many of the area’s top oceanfront condo resorts.
As Myrtle Beach grows and expands its appeal, it continues to attract new visitors and meet the needs of a wide range of vacationer lifestyles.

Myrtle Beach Condos Benefit from New Oceanfront Boardwalk

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Standing on the oceanfront property that once was home to the Myrtle Beach Pavilion, city and chamber dignitaries ushered in a new era on Saturday, May15, 2010 with a dedication ceremony for a newly built Boardwalk – an amenity destined to become the new signature reference point for “downtown” Myrtle Beach!

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk South Section
Winding along the beachfront, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk & Promenade curves around the dunes as it flows by hotels, condominium towers, shops, bars and restaurants, enticing tourists and locals alike to stroll or rest on convenient benches as they enjoy spectacular ocean views. The section from the 14th Avenue North Pier to 4th Avenue North opened Easter Weekend. The remaining portion, extending south to the 2nd Avenue Pier is scheduled to open June 15. Area merchants are excited to have a new “front door” to their oceanfront properties and several restaurants are opening sidewalk cafes. The Hoffman Group is pleased that some of the oceanfront condominium towers offering Myrtle Beach condos for sale will also benefit from the Boardwalk including Holiday Pavilion, Bay View, Oceans One and Sandy Beach.

Designed by DDC engineers, Inc. of Myrtle Beach, work began in September, 2009. Contractor M.B. Kahn of Conway kept about 35 employees and subcontractors busy during the winter months to stay on schedule for the 1.2 mile project costing $6 million.

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Central Section

The boardwalk comes in three distinct sections, each with its own “personality.” North is a raised wooden sidewalk with landscaping; central will be busy along the retail section that will feature sidewalk cafes; south will be a promenade equipped with park benches. Period lighting adds ambience while sailcloth canopies take full advantage of the ocean breezes!

The dedication was part of the 1st Annual Beach Music Festival featuring renowned beach music bands including The Embers, Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, and Billy Scott and the Party Prophets. Another highlight was the cutting and enjoying of a huge “flip-flop” cake designed by television master chef Buddy Valastro of TLC’s “The Cake Boss.”

Everyone who misses the Pavilion, needs to come check out the Boardwalk. Everyone who has never been to Myrtle Beach needs to put the Boardwalk on their must-do agenda!
